How to Record a Conference

Canvas Conferences can be recorded will be automatically saved for up to 14 days after the conference. In order to record, recording must be enabled when first creating the conference or by editing an existing conference.

Make sure to check the "Enable Recording for this Conference" box before starting the conference if a recording is desired.

How to View a Recorded Conference

Concluded conferences are seen at the lower end of the Canvas Conference page. If they were recorded, there will be a small arrow pointing to the right next to the name of the specific conference.

Click the arrow, and the details of the recorded conference will show up below the conference in question. Among these details are links to the recorded conference notes, video, the instructor will also see the duration of the recording. Additionally, if the recording was started and stopped more than once during the conference, there will be a link to each individual recording.

Caveat: Remember, a completed conference will only have a video if recording was started during the conference in addition to having recording enabled. However, if you forgot to hit record, send an email to instructionaldesign@nnu.edu within 14 days of the conference and we can look into whether a backup recording of the conference is still available.
