Overview

BlueJeans is NNU's most formal Video Conference tool. Primarily managed by NNU's ITS department, but also supported by Instructional Design & Technology, BlueJeans departmental licenses or one-off meeting requests are created by ITS upon receiving a ticket request created at help.nnu.edu. Course-related BlueJeans meeting codes can also be created through the Bluejeans tab within Canvas courses, and, if recorded, are automatically linked within the same Bluejeans course tab for viewing or downloading. BlueJeans meetings are easy for students to join, provide more moderator controls and other functions (such as break out rooms) than Google Meet, and is more intuitive than Big Blue Button.

Advantages

Compared to the other video conference tools, BlueJeans is best used when the professor needs both a permanent recording and greater functionality than Google Meet offers due to it having both capabilities while also being very intuitive.

Limitations

NNU has limited licensing for BlueJeans and prefers to distribute licenses by departments instead of individual users. If your department needs access to this tool outside of a Canvas course and the other conferencing options are not viable, please contact IT Services or Instructional Design & Technology.
