Teaching Continuity Guide

This guide is to help prepare faculty to teach remotely in the event the campus is closed or they are unable to come to campus.

Support Resources

Canvas Support

24/7 Canvas phone and chat support are available for NNU faculty and students.

Canvas Instructor Guides

The Canvas Instructor Guides are step-by-step guides to common questions for every feature in Canvas. Look up guides based on the feature (ex. assignments, modules, Studio, etc.) and browse the questions. Each link takes you to a step-by-step guide to answer the question.

In addition to the guides linked in the Moving Online Strategies section, here are some other introductory guides:

Canvas Student Guides

The Canvas Student Guides are step-by-step guides to common questions for students in Canvas. In addition to the guides, NNU has a Canvas Student Training course.

Instructional Design & Technology Support

IDT is here to support you in moving your courses online. You can contact IDT for help with Canvas, instructional strategies, and using technology in your instruction.

IDT encourages you to use the instructionaldesign@nnu.edu email address instead of department contact's personal email addresses. Bethany, Crystal, and Bryce all have access to the main Instructional Design account. You will likely get a quicker response when all three of us are checking it regularly.

Library & Research Support

All online services are available to students and faculty remotely. There are limitations on print books and interlibrary loans. Use the contact options linked below for assistance.

Center for Academic Support and Advising

Please see the CASA website for information on remote disability services, testing, tutoring, and the writing center.

Faculty/Peer-Support

We have faculty in almost every department and college who teaches online using Canvas. Please use your colleagues as a resource while you prepare.
