How far is Northwest Nazarene University from the airport?

20 miles. It usually takes 20-40 minutes on I-84 or 40-60 minutes if you avoid highways

  • Can I share a ride to/from the airport?

After registration, you will begin to receive conference-specific emails, one of which will be about coordinating rides to the airport. If you plan to rent a car, you will have easy access to the rental cars from the baggage claim. 

Can I take a train to get to Nampa/Boise?

You can't get all the way to Boise on the train, so it would be a combination of train and another form of transportation, such as a rental car, plane, or bus (some kind of coach line like Greyhound). You can use the Amtrak "plan your trip" tool, but you may also want to look at the overall route map. See the Train section this guide for more information.

What are the nearest major airports?

Boise -- 20 miles

Spokane -- 287 miles

Salt Lake City -- 290 miles

Portland -- 430 miles

Seattle -- 495 miles

What do I need to know about the laundry facilities?

There are laundry rooms on each of the dorm floors. They take quarters or you can pay with an app.

Will I be able to stay on campus Wednesday night?

Yes, you can register for a Wednesday night stay. Checkout will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday. 

Will I have access to gym facilities?

Yes. You can request gym access. Use the this form to submit your gym request. There is also a workout facility in the dorm that may be open for limited hours. 

What if my plans change? Can I get a refund?

Will conference sessions be recorded?

No, conference sessions will not be recorded. However, presenters are encouraged to post their slides and handouts in Whova, the conference app. You may also want to watch for announcements on the ACL listserv about virtual professional development opportunities in the Fall/Winter.
