Turnitin for Students

Usually your professor will set up submissions in Canvas so that they automatically go through the Turnitin database for plagiarism checking.

However, if you would like to see a report BEFORE you submit your paper, you may use the Turnitin Draft Coach, a Microsoft Word Online/365 add-in.

Instructor Support for Using the TurnItIn Website
This link will help you get started with Turnitin as an instructor if you wish to use the TurnItIn website to check for plagiarism. To begin you need to register with Turnitin and create a user profile. You may have already received an e-mail from Turnitin with a temporary password, which means a user profile has already been created for you. If you have questions, contact the Help Desk (208-467-8111).
Instructor Support for Using TurnItIn with Canvas
This link will take you to tutorials for setting up assignments within Canvas that require students to use TurnItIn. The tool actually integrates into Canvas.
