Phi Delta Lambda is an international honor society for graduates of Nazarene colleges and universities who have excelled in scholarship.
Since its founding in the 1940s, the purpose of this society, as stated in the constitution, is the promotion of scholarship and friendly relations among students and graduates of the colleges and universities of the Church of the Nazarene and the stimulation and maintenance of high ideals of learning, character and Christian service.
Membership in Phi Delta Lambda is comprised of the top fifteen percent of the graduating class earning baccalaureate degrees from the traditional undergraduate program. It also includes the top fifteen percent of the graduating class earning baccalaureate degrees from the degree completion programs.
Northwest Nazarene University's Delta chapter of Phi Delta Lambda was the fourth chapter established.
Phi stands for philosophia, or love of wisdom
Delta stands for dikaiosune, or righteousness
Lambda stands for latria, or service
