Flat World Knowledge is a publisher of free and open reviewed college textbooks though they have many subjects listed most of their content is in business & economics. The company provides faculty with options to edit the content to fit course goals. Students have options to purchase affordable print and digital formats, including e-books, audio books, PDF downloads and interactive study aids.

Writing Spaces: Readings on Writing is a book series containing peer-reviewed collections of essays--all composed by teachers for students--with each volume freely available for download under a Creative Commons license.

The Open Anthology of Earlier American Literature, is an OER anthology produced by Robin DeRosa and her students for an American literature survey course, made of public domain texts and student-written introductions that provide historical and biographical context. Derosa describes the process of building the textbook and reflects on open pedagogy.

The NAP publishes more than 200 books a year on a wide range of topics in science, engineering, and medicine, providing authoritative information on important matters in science and health policy. All books are free to download or can be purchased in hard copy for a reasonable price.
