Clinical Psychology (PsyD)

A guide for locating sources supporting the study of Psychology and related subjects.

Locating Books & eBooks

The NNU Library has a rich collection of print and eBooks. On the library's main website, use the "Find Books, Videos and Music" box. You can search by author or title. Use quote marks (e.g., "Decoding professional ethics") to make the search more concise. If the NNU Library has it, the item will be displayed with either the call number or the Access Link for the eBook. The box below provides information on how to acquire an item not owned by NNU Library.

Accessing Books NOT owned by NNU Library

Sometimes you will need to access items not owned by the NNU Library. You can use the free interlibrary loan service to acquire these items. Please note, the library is not able to acquire copies of eBooks through interlibrary loan due to publisher restrictions, so you may need to locate a print edition of the item.

Interlibrary loan process:

  • Go to the library's website;
  • Go to "Find Items in Other Libraries" and click the button;
  • Enter your title and/or author in the search box;
  • Locate the item you need (if you are looking at an eBook, scroll to the bottom of the item record, you will see an option for "Worldwide editions and formats." Click this to locate a print copy of an eBook. Then, click on the hyperlinked item title;
  • On the right side, you will see an "Access Options" box, with an option to "Request from Another Library"; and,
  • Click this button and complete the form. Make sure to submit the form at the end.

Note: It can take up to 2-weeks to receive print items through interlibrary loan. You will be notified when the item is available to be picked up at the Learning Commons Service Desk.  If you need just a chapter from the item rather than the entire item, use the Journal Article/Book Chapter Interlibrary Loan Request form to request just the chapter. The chapter will be sent electronically to your NNU email.
